Older professionalsādonāt let your rĆ©sumĆ© date you! In this video, I share quick, no BS strategies to highlight your experience, prove your adaptability, and land interviews. Whether youāre 50, 60, or beyond, your skills are valuable. You just canāt turn people off.
Why Are You āNever Too Oldā to Find That Perfect Job?
If youāre an older professional, donāt sell yourself short on your resume. Hereās how to differentiate yourself in a good way.
First of all, lead with results, not job duties or responsibilities. Instead of āmanage the team,ā write āled a team that cut costs 15%ā. Numbers always win on rĆ©sumĆ©s.
Second, show adaptability. Mention new tools and technologies, software, and methods youāve learned recently and youāve used. That proves you can flex with the times.
Third, highlight transferable skills like leadership, problem-solving, and mentoring skills younger professionals canāt.
And then from there, ditch the outdated details. No one cares what you did in the last century, seriously. Get rid of that stuff in your resume. Keep it much more current. Your resume should scream experience, skills, and adaptability. Thatās whatās going to get you interviews, not rejections.
