Italy has secured a spot for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, to be held next year in India and Sri Lanka.
In the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier 2025 event, Italy has registered wins over Guernsey and Scotland.
With Italy becoming the 13th country to confirm qualification – and Netherlands 14th -, six spots are still up for grabs. The remaining spots will be determined via the regional qualifier tournaments, with two teams set to qualify from Africa, one from the Americas and three from the Asia/East Asia-Pacific region.
The showpiece in 2026 will feature 20 teams, which includes hosts India and Sri Lanka. The other teams to have secured automatic qualification are Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, South Africa, West Indies and the United States—all teams that reached the Super Eights stage of the last T20 World Cup. Additionally, Pakistan, New Zealand and Ireland also secured automatic qualification owing to their T20I rankings.
