In a powerful and purpose-driven address, Uma Ratnam Krishnan, Managing Director, Optum India, set the tone for the future of healthcare as a mission beyond medicine. Speaking to a room filled with innovators and leaders, she emphasized that India’s healthcare journey must move from being treatment-centric to patient-first, proactive, and equity-driven.
Calling HealthX Elevate a movement, she praised the showcased startups for solving real-world problems with empathy and scale – from AI-powered diagnostics to tech-enabled care delivery. What stood out, she noted, wasn’t just the technology, but the clarity of purpose to improve lives.
She called for embracing value-based care – where outcomes, not procedures, define success; and she urged alignment across policy, technology, and incentives to decongest hospitals, enable early intervention, and improve clinical outcomes.
Her closing message was clear and galvanizing: “Let’s foster collaboration and build an ecosystem across the government, across the industry and private players, corporates, academia and civil society and commit to building a system that’s inclusive, intelligent and inspired by every citizen’s dream. Built to Endure: Kiren Rijiju on the Strength of India’s Democratic Framework
If Uma Ratnam Krishnan’s address was a call to action, Shri Kiren Rijiju’s keynote was a call to conviction. In a candid and impromptu speech, Shri Kiren Rijiju, Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs & Minister of Minority Affairs, GoI, shared a deeply personal perspective on India’s stability, resilience, and future.
Acknowledging the roomful of domain experts and healthcare innovators, he emphasized the critical role of collaboration – across sectors and levels of governance – to build a stronger, more united India.
The Union Minister addressed growing public restlessness and the perception of eroding faith in institutions, offering a sharp counterpoint: India, by design, is built to endure. He highlighted the foundational strength of India’s Constitution, its diverse population, and federal governance model as key reasons why the country has remained stable, even amid global political upheavals.
He also noted that as India’s global influence grows, it will naturally face more scrutiny and competitive pressure – but that’s a sign of strength, not fragility.

The session titled, “From Idea to Impact: Driving Scalable Innovation in Healthcare Solutions”, brought together top voices from across the investment and innovation landscape: Sunil Thakur (Partner, Quadria Capital and Co-Founder, HealthQuad), Vijay Barathan (Partner, Global, Optum Ventures), Prashant Warier (Co -Founder & CEO, Qure.ai), and Gaurav Agarwal (Co-Founder & CTO, Tata 1mg), moderated by CNBC-TV18’s Ekta Batra. The conversation explored what separates promising concepts from scalable ventures. The consensus: startups need to focus on “must-solve” problems, especially in Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets. AI was spotlighted as a game-changer in diagnostics and clinical workflows – but only when paired with strong unit economics and localized relevance.
In a fireside chat on”Digital India and the Future of Healthcare”, between Abhishek Singh (CEO, IndiaAI Mission) and Ashmit Kumar (CNBC-TV18), Abhishek Singh outlined how AI is already making an impact – from NLP-driven voice interfaces to remote ICU monitoring – especially in remote and underserved areas. But he was clear-eyed about the risks: true transformation demands tech that is not just cutting-edge, but language-inclusive, privacy-conscious, and compliant with India’s evolving regulatory frameworks.
The session on “Reimagining Healthcare: Access, Innovation & Global Leadership”, moderated by Shereen Bhan (Managing Editor, CNBC-TV18) was a candid conversation with Dr. Indu Bhushan (ex-CEO, Ayushman Bharat), Dr. Naresh Trehan (Chairman & Managing Director, Medanta – The Medicity), and Uma Ratnam Krishnan (Managing Director, Optum India).
