Stock Market Live Updates: After falling significantly, the Indian indices are now on the path to recovery. The Nifty index is trading with cuts of 60 points, below the 24,700 mark. The Sensex is also trading with a fall of close to 250 points, below the 81,000 mark. Hero MotoCorp, Asian Paints, SBI Life are among the major gainers.
When we look at the larger markets, the Nifty Bank index is trading with cuts of close to 200 points, falling below 54,300.
Meanwhile, when we look at the Nifty Midcap and Nifty Smallcap indices, these indices are trading under pressure, with both indices trading with cuts under 0.40%.
The index has also given up all the gains for the August series. Donald Trump’s additional 25% tariffs on Indian exports to the US have taken effect from Wednesday, taking the overall levy to 50%. Signals from White House officials on the future of the relationship have been mixed.
The shares of Ola Electric, Godfrey Philips, Jaiprakash Power, and Sundarram Fasteners are among the big gainers among the Nifty 500 stocks.
