You crushed your second interview, felt amazing, and now… crickets. The silence is deafening, and you’re wondering what went wrong. Don’t sit around stressing
I reached the second interview for a job and felt it went well, um, but they haven’t followed up. When I inquired, they said they’d get back to me, but now the position is re-advertised. Is this normal? The answer is yes, it is normal.
Why? Because systems automatically renew ads at least one time. Some platforms do it until taken down. Some organizations will make a small change to the ad, like, you know, at the end of a sentence. For example, if I were working with your question, the end of the first line says “they haven’t followed up” and it has a period there; they might take the period out because that moves it up to the top on the job board or on LinkedIn or wherever.
So yes, that’s pretty normal. It doesn’t mean you’ve been rejected. It doesn’t mean that you’ve been chosen. It just meant that the ad renewed itself and that’s as far as it goes. They haven’t made an offer to anyone else as of yet, and they still want to see more people, or the ad auto-renewed and they’re going to see more people. It doesn’t really mean any psycho.
