Cement major The Ramco Cements is expanding its capacity to about 30 million tonnes (mt) by March-June 2026 from the current 24-mt levels, and expects the ₹1,000-crore expansion at its Kurnool plant to help them double revenue to ₹15,000-16,000 crore in the next four-five years.

“The 65-year-old Ramco has moved from being a mere cement producer to a complete construction solutions provider,” AV Dharmakrishnan, CEO, The Ramco Cements, told newspersons on Tuesday at the unveiling of ‘Hard Worker’, a new identity of the company’s construction chemicals product range. “We are targeting a 10x growth in construction chemicals division to around ₹2,000 crore in five years,” he said.

The company operates 11 cement plants (five integrated units and six grinding units), with a total clinker capacity of 16 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) and cement capacity of 24.4 mtpa. It also has one packing plant (120 TPH) and five construction chemical plants with a combined capacity of 0.5 mtpa.

In 2024-25, Ramco Cements achieved revenue of over ₹8,500 crore with profits of ₹417 crore, Dharmakrishnan said.

As per a statement by Ramco, the Indian construction chemicals market is projected to reach ₹40,000 crore by 2030, driven by rapid urbanisation, infrastructure expansion and increasing demand for durable, high-performance building materials. “We hope to have over 2 per cent market share of the division in five years,” said Dharmakrishnan.

Complete rebranding

Abinav Raja, Director, Ramco Group, said Hard Worker represents innovation, strength and trust. It reflects the company’s enduring promise – ‘Right Products for Right Application’. It’s a complete rebranding of the product to make it easy for people to buy and use the product.

The new range of Ramco’s products features 20 specialised offerings including tile adhesives, waterproofing solutions, bonding agents and repair mortars — all designed to meet the evolving needs of India’s construction sector.

Currently operating in southern and eastern India, the company is leveraging its existing cement distribution network and ramping up brand promotion to reach new customers. “With Hard Worker, we are unifying and expanding our Construction Chemicals range to 20 products today and another 20 products coming soon,” said Dharmakrishnan.
