In a continued effort to boost employment opportunities across the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will distribute more than 51,000 appointment letters to new recruits during the 16th edition of the Rozgar Mela on Saturday. The event will be conducted virtually, with PM Modi addressing the recruits via video conferencing at 11 a.m.
The Rozgar Mela will be held at 47 locations across India and will cover recruitments in key Central Government Ministries and Departments, including the Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Posts, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Department of Financial Services, and Ministry of Labour & Employment.
Candidates selected from different regions will be inducted into various roles, reinforcing service delivery and operational capacity in the public sector. Officials said the appointments aim to infuse fresh energy into governance and strengthen administrative efficiency across departments.
Launched by the Prime Minister on October 22, 2022, the Rozgar Mela is a nationwide recruitment initiative aimed at generating job opportunities in mission mode. Since its inception, over 10 lakh appointment letters have been issued under this programme, as per official data.
The government said the initiative reflects its commitment to empowering the youth by providing structured employment and growth opportunities in the public sector. Emphasising merit, transparency, and speed in recruitment, the Rozgar Mela is seen as a vital step toward enhancing government capacity and engaging India’s young workforce in nationbuilding.
