Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui recently opened up about his bond with his daughter Shora, who, in his words, keeps him grounded. In the same interview, Nawazuddin also admitted that balancing his profession with family responsibilities has always been his weakness.
Speaking to The New Indian, the actor said: “I am more attached to my daughter. I yell at her sometimes, but she is very dear to me. She studies in Dubai and she is a moohphat (straightforward). She criticises me. The best part is she is not in awe of me. She doesn’t care that her father is a great actor — in two minutes, she can criticise me. She keeps me grounded, and that is a good thing. She hasn’t even watched many of my movies.”
Nawazuddin Siddiqui also reflected on a recurring criticism — his absence at home. A point his wife Aaliya had publicly raised earlier, Nawaz admitted that balancing his profession with family responsibilities has always been his weakness. “It is important to be aware of family responsibilities. But not everybody can bring that balance. When someone gets deeply involved in their profession and creativity, they often become weak in family matters — and that is the case with me. I am always weak at keeping up with family responsibilities,” he confessed.
