Virudhunagar Collector N.O. Sukhaputra has declared local holiday for Virudhunagar district on July 28, Monday, on the occasion of car festival of Andal temple in connection with Aadi Pooram festival.
A statement said that the compensatory working day would be on August 9, the second Saturday.
Closure of liquor shops for two days:
Meanwhile, the Collector has ordered closure of three Tasmac retail shops in Watrap, Maharajapuram and Ilainthaikulam and FL 1 and FL 2 bars run by different recreation clubs in Watrap, Maharajapuram and Koomapatti on Wednesday and Thursday in view of Aadi Amavasai festival on July 24.
