The Wadhwani School of Data Science and AI (WSAI) at IIT-Madras has partnered with Lloyds Technology Centre, a technology and data company, on research-based industrial projects and deep research projects.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the companies recently in the presence of Prof Balaraman Ravindran, Head, Wadhwani School of Data Science and AI, IIT Madras, and Sirisha Voruganti, CEO and Managing Director, Lloyds Technology Centre.
As part of the agreement, engineers from Lloyds Technology Centre will be sponsored for advanced certified training programs during the term of the collaboration. The key focus areas for these programs include Advanced Data Engineering and AI/ML
“We are focused on enabling and driving research in data science and AI across seven key disciplines. A year ago, we established a significant initiative aimed at fostering deep partnerships with major industries. Today, we are excited to begin our journey with the Lloyds Technology Centre, Balaraman Ravindran, Head, Wadhwani School of Data Science and AI, IIT Madras, said.
The partnership includes a training component, with a cohort of Lloyds’ scientists and engineers already being trained, he added. Further, the teams have also begun exploring specific AI challenges, particularly in areas like banking and finance.”
Sirisha Voruganti, CEO and Managing Director, Lloyds Technology Centre, said, “The vast potential to learn from data with the advancement in AI is immense. We are always striving to provide customers with faster, better and cheaper solutions. With a broad range of interests spanning pension, insurance, investments and more, we are very excited to delve down and collaborate with the researchers at the institute for building smarter predictive models. “
