Five held with 100 bags of ration rice

Thatchanallur police have arrested five persons with 100 bags of ration rice.

During night patrol, the police picked up Madasamy, 42, of Kokkirakulam on suspicion near Old Madurai Road. When theys questioned him, he said he and his associates were about to take ration rice in two mini cargo vehicles.

Based on the information provided by him, the police detained two vehicles with 100 bags of ration rice and arrested Madasamy. They also arrested Madasamy’s associates, Sudalaimuthu of Naranammalpuram, Muthupandi of Shankar Nagar, Arumugam of Arugankulam and Gopi of Mannaarkovil.

They were handed over to the Civil Supplies CID police later.
