The New York Times’ podcast, “The Daily” did an episode about college-educated people leaving large cities. Here’s why.
GenZ Won’t Be Another Commodity in Your ATS
If you’re an employer in one of the large urban areas around the United States, you may have noticed that the pool of college-educated talent has started to shrink, especially for high-skilled jobs.
Why is that? Well, the New York Times podcast, The Daily, did a great show, where they talked about the reasons for this. To simplify their answer, people can’t afford to live in your areas and have a quality of life that they find acceptable. Housing costs are high, the cost of taxes high, it’s not easy, and they get worn out by it so they move elsewhere and find satisfaction from it.
Consider hiring remote workers, well-educated people who are in lower-cost areas, but who could work remotely for you.
