Echoes of Earth to celebrate National Wildlife Week in Bengaluru

To celebrate National Wildlife Week, which takes place between October 2 and 8 every year, Echoes of Earth will curate a series of events across Bangalore, including guided biodiversity walks, interactive workshops, and immersive nature experiences.

While Echoes of Earth, under The Greener Side initiative, holds monthly events every month, this week will be especially focused on celebrating India’s biodiversity and raising awareness about species that need attention and protection, says Piyushi Taunk, Head of Department- IP & Special Projects, Echoes of Earth.

“Unlike our usual monthly events that spotlight one theme or activity, this wildlife week brings together a series of diverse, family-friendly and expert-led programs across cities,” she says. “It is a larger celebration of nature across day and night, different lakes, forests and hidden habitats with the focus on raising awareness and inspiring conservation action.”

According to her, the event, which will be held on October 4 and 5, will “begin with an interesting nature trail curated by our partners A Rocha at the campus in Bengaluru leading into a two-day experience that celebrates the often overlooked world of birds, butterflies and birds.” The highlight, she adds, is an overnight adventure into nocturnal wildlife at large that will have educational night walks and a rare chance to experience nature after dark, led by their partner A Rocha’s team of knowledge experts.

“One of the core ideas of The Greener Side by Echoes of Earth is to make conservation fun, engaging and accessible, especially for young kids and families,” she says, pointing out that when children are introduced to nature in a playful, hands-on way, they develop a natural curiosity and responsibility towards it. “Instead of teaching conservation in a heavy or theoretical way, we focus on creating love, joy, discovery and connection in an outdoor setting,” she says.
