Addressing parliamentarians from around the world at the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) headquarters in Geneva on 16 September, Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala encouraged them to back WTO reform and stand firmly behind multilateral cooperation on trade as a means to improve their constituents’ living standards. The meeting of the Steering Committee of the Parliamentary Conference on the WTO was co-organized by the IPU and the European Parliament’s Committee on International Trade.
