The Special Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) of Andhra Pradesh has cleared investment proposals worth ₹39,473 crore from 22 companies in pharma, information technology, food processing, energy and tourism sectors. These projects, when implemented, will create 31,000 jobs.

JSW Neo Energy has proposed to set up a facility in Kadapa with an investment of ₹2,000 crore; ITC Limited ₹328 crore to set up a hotel in Visakhapatnam. Laurus Labs expressed its  interest to set up a ₹5,630-crore facility near Anakapalle.

During the last eight SIPB meetings, the State cleared 109 project proposals with an aggregate investment of ₹5.74 lakh crore, with a potential to create five lakh jobs.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who chaired the meeting in Vijayawada on Thursday, asked the officials to provide infrastructure facilities near the project sites.

“We should not just restrain ourselves to the projects approved. We should be able to promote ancillary units around the projects,” he said in a statement.
