Entrepreneur and 2024 Lok Sabha independent candidate Arunkanth from Coimbatore has launched Indiema.in, a social media platform focusing on content rather than follower counts or paid promotions, according to a press release from Info Pluto Media Works Pvt. Ltd.

The platform allows users to view posts without following creators. Feeds are controlled through topic selection and filters. Content appears first, with the creator revealed only after user interaction. Posts follow a structured format with title and description. Users can access posts by location, from a pincode to a State. All content expires after 30 days. Public comments and paid promotions are not allowed.

Viewing content is free. Creators pay an annual subscription of ₹1,000. Organisations can create private networks on the platform. Indiema.in opens to new users on Wednesday.

The press release stated that the platform’s development preceded Prime Minister Modi’s call for Indian-made social media and added that the PM’s participation would support the platform.
