Is the iPhone 17 launch date confirmed? What we know so far

Apple has officially confirmed its annual fall event, titled ‘Awe Dropping’, for September 9, 2025. The event will take place at 10:30 pm IST and is expected to be the platform the launch of the iPhone 17 series.

The announcement has come on the back of an accidental leak on the Apple TV application, which briefly disclosed the September 9 date, thereby reaffirming already existent speculation.

The new line-up is slated to have four models: the standard iPhone 17, the iPhone 17 Air, and the premium iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max.

The iPhone 17 Air is likely to be the thinnest version of the model yet. The entire series is expected to see major upgrades, comprising a new A19 series chip, enhanced camera systems, and the iOS 26 operating system having advanced AI capabilities.

Upon the conclusion of the launch event, the pre-orders are anticipated to commence on Friday, September 12, with the official market release poised to be on September 19, 2025.
