Mobile phones seized in Poojappura Central Prison

Two mobile phones were seized from the Poojappura Central Prison on Wednesday.

According to official sources, one of the phones was recovered from the underwear of an inmate, Shafeek, who is currently jailed in connection with a rape case. The second phone was found wrapped in a plastic kit and hidden inside the drainage system of a prison toilet.

The Poojappura police have registered a case in connection with the incident. Both mobile phones have been sent for forensic examination to identify the owners.
