Al Calderon is bidding farewell to his time on Days of Our Lives.
The actor—who joined the long-running soap opera last year playing Javi Hernandez, the cousin of characters Rafe (Galen Gering) and Gabi (Cherie Jimenez)—confirmed he’s leaving the hit TV series.
“My time on Days of Our Lives has been truly life-changing,” Calderon wrote in his Instagram Stories Aug. 6. “I’m endlessly grateful to the cast, crew, and creatives who made me feel seen, valued, and part of a legacy of family.”
The 31-year-old continued, “I’ll carry the love, lessons, and memories with me on every journey I go on. While I’m just a small grain of sand, I’m just happy I got to pass through the hourglass.”
Despite his departure, Calderon left the door open for Javi’s possible return in the future.
“As my mom used to tell me,” he wrote, “it’s not goodbye, just see you later.”
