The Indian Parliament has cut the gordian knot by introducing deeming provisions in respect of royalty and fees for technical services as well as interest earned from Indian residents by non-residents, notes Chartered Accountant S Murlidharan, with reference to a recent Supreme Court ruling on taxing foreign entities in India.
